The fight against single use plastics marches boldy on with the opening of a new bulk buy store in Hackney Downs.
Created to offer locals a more conscious way to shop, customers can refill their own containers and newbies can buy sustainably made containers in store.
Re:Store is selling store cupboard and household essentials such as wholefoods, nuts and seeds, herbs and spices, oil and vinegar, tea and coffee, and cleaning products.
Owner Megan Adams says: “We aim to work with local suppliers where possible and are excited to be offering Mission coffee beans, roasted only a couple of miles away in Clapton and delivered by electric van, and Ombra premium pasta made in a local Italian restaurant in Bethnal Green.”
The store is nestled between a yoga studio, cocktail bar, record shop and loom weaving workshop, and near to popular cafés and pubs… has essentials shopping ever been so enticing?
