FAIR. is working with the bars to create a unique cocktail menu, which will be available from Monday 25 February to Sunday 10 March, in support of Fairtrade’s #SheDeserves campaign. The cocktails on offer will include the popular quinoa-based vodka, café liqueur and cacao liqueur plus introduce the latest addition to the collection, a Fairtrade ginger liqueur.
For two weeks only £1 from each cocktail sold will go to a programme which supports women in Bolivia who are linked to ANAPQUI, the co-op where FAIR. source their quinoa for their unique vodka.
ASOMART, literally called the «asociacion de mujeres artesanas», is an association of women craft-workers that works to empower women all over Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat.
They do this by organising knitting and sewing courses that teach the women how to make Bolivian fabrics and clothes, providing the necessary sewing machines and weaving looms, and finally helping them to sell their clothes, fabrics and other pieces in La Paz.
Last year FAIR. raised £1500 for the scheme and this year hope to double that amount. Currently, 44 women benefit directly from this association and the goal is to work with 106 women in 2019.
