Exactly one year ago today we successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign (raising £10,645!) to provide something that’s missing at the moment – a way to easily discover how to buy stylish clothes that are ethically made by people paid living wages, and to eat great-tasting and nutritious food, sustainably produced.
Things most of us care about, but often lack the information to make choices we can stand by.
We pledged to add 100 brands to BICBIM within a year thanks to your pledges – and today marks the first day of our #100 brands100days campaign to highlight some of our favourite companies with social responsibility at the heart of what they do.
We also promised to try to add a shop (we did it!), to improve functionality (we’re constantly doing this, but check out the map on the restaurants page), and to continue to do investigations and to write the stories that big brands don’t want you to know (see our blog, plus founder Lizzie Rivera’s articles for the Evening Standard, Independent and Farmdrop).
There’s still lots more to do and we have more exciting news for you before the year is out! But, now is a time to reflect and celebrate. By supporting these brands we are all sculpting a better world through the choices we make everyday.
