Because it’s Cool

Sustainable luxury fashion brand The Maiyet has launched a new store in Mayfair at The Conduit member’s club with a focus on social impact.

But the Maiyet Collective won’t be featuring any of their own designs, instead using their established name to help raise the profiles of fashionable brands making a positive impact.

In an evolution of the increasingly popular pop-up concept, The Maiyet Collective will only be open for three days a month, featuring brands on a rotational basis. For non-members, shopping is by appointment only.

Because it Matters

Most brands have a focus on sustainable materials and the most dedicated ensure there is also human sustainability in their supply chain. Not every brand in the Maiyet collective will tick every one of your ethical requirements but the well-versed assistants, predominantly business and fashion students, are on hand to help you get the double buzz that comes from buying something that looks good and does good.

Some of our favourite brands include fashion labels such as Birdsong, who create meaningful work for women from migrant seamstresses to knitting grannies, and Ecoalf with their famous “Because there’s no Planet B” slogan.

Coveted accessories are from the likes of Eden Diodati, who produces jewellery in conjunction of women who survived the genocide in Rwanda to naturally-tanned leather bags from Carolina Wong weaved by a co-operative of women in Morocco.

There’s also natural beauty brands such as A. S. Apothecary, a small batch distillery making natural scents, and refillable lipsticks from La Bouche Rouge.

Beautiful homeware is provided by Ishkar, whose products are made by craftsmen in war zones, and Aerende, who sells products handmade in the UK by people facing barriers to employment.
