We officially launched BICBIM on Tuesday 3 October! It was a fantastic night, with the party kindly hosted by Mayfair’s Neo Bistro.
Guests were from a whole range of food and fashion brands that have two things in common – they offer great quality and a responsible and humane supply chain.
The Fairtrade Foundation and animal campaigning organisations Compassion in World Farming and Farms Not Factories also attended.
THE FOOD AND DRINK
The canapés were testament to the fact that great taste goes hand-in-hand with amazing produce. They included crispy wild rabbit with smoked garlic mayo, smoked cod’s roe on pumpernickel biscuit and a plethora of colourful and seasonal vegan options.
Executive head chef Mark Jarvis said: “As recent food scandals show, knowing where your food really comes from is hugely important. As a chef, there’s never any question of sourcing anything but humanely farmed meat because it’s superior in quality, taste and nutritional value.
“We wanted to support BICBIM with this party to help launch their campaign and because we think the website is a great resource.”
FAIR spirits provided the welcome espresso martinis that became the drink of choice throughout the evening, and all prosecco and wines were from low-impact vineyards.
By the end of the night we had raised more than £3,700 towards our crowdfunding campaign, and at the time of posting we are 55% closer to our £10,000 goal!
As part of the campaign, we also launched our competition to win an exclusive Fairtrade gold and diamond ring worth £3,200!
A huge thank you to all the brands who are offering fantastic rewards, including The Fairtrade Foundation, Union coffee, Riverford, Abel & Cole, Sushi Samba London, Fashion Revolution, Gather & See, and chef Mark Jarvis.
We hope to host a bigger party soon where you an all be invited, but in the meantime, here’s a small selection of photos to give you taste of how it went…
