This Saturday: Birdsong’s last ever sample sale

The event:

One of the biggest obstacles people have when it comes to buying ethical fashion is the cost. So, with prices from £5 this Birdsong sample sale is the perfect chance to shop for beautifully made clothes, support an ethical fashion brand that pays all of its workers a living wage at a very affordable price point – win win win.

With drinks, snacks and the Birdsong team on hand you’ll also be able to learn more about what makes them so great – and gain a bit more of an understanding about why prices this low are just not feasible year round (unless we’re willing to exploit people and the environment in the name of a cheap top…).

The Birdsong sample sale is being held because they are soon transitioning to a pre-order system, so this will be their last ever big public sale.

The brand:

Birdsong began life as a feminist brand making slogan tees, shouting about photoshop and hell-bent on paying women workers a fair wage. A commitment to ethical and sustainable fashion is still at their core, but they’ve grown to create a collection of unique wardrobe staples to transform your (out)look. Their vibe is thoughtful clothes in bright colours, edgy silhouettes and art-inspired prints made from natural fabrics.

Birdsong Sample Sale

Dress in protest is the Birdsong ethos – protest against the fast nature of the fashion industry, the obsessive pursuit of trends and the systematic abuse of women in the production line. They create the designs in house, and then work with expert makers who face barriers to employment in the UK – from refugee seamstresses to octogenarian knitters – and pay them London living wage to bring their creations to life.

The location:

Drummond Crescent
